Middle School Notes

Happy Friday!

Congratulations to our Middle School Chorus which received an overall Superior rating at the District Choral Festival yesterday in Tallassee.  Our group is now headed to the State Festival in Birmingham in April.  Not only did our kids sing beautifully, but their behavior was absolutely fantastic.  I was extremely proud to be associated with such a fine group of kids.

Thanks to the parents who took time to give blood during our annual blood drive today.  As soon as the results of our little competition are announced (see post below) I will pass those on to you.

If you have not yet had a chance, please take a moment to subscribe to this blog feed.  You may do so by simply entering your email address in the space directly adjacent to this post.  Each new post to this blog will arrive in your inbox, so you'll always be informed!

Middle School Notes

Congratulations to Mrs. Pirtle's 7th period English class (above) for winning a competition between classes to see who could be "The Best" in the 8th grade.  Criteria included turning in homework, having supplies for class, and being on the very best of behavior.  Way to go!

Mrs. Kirtland recently allowed the 6th grade classes to get "up close and personal" with a real octopus.  As you can see, the students were, at the same time, interested and a little "grossed out!"  Let's just say it made for and interesting end to the day for this group of kids!

Be sure to congratulate your kids on a great 3rd Nine Weeks.  It is hard to believe that we have wrapped up 75% of this school year!  I hope you and your family enjoy a wonderful, fun-filled Spring Break!

Here are the tests currently on the docket for the week after Spring Break:

7th Grade:

Friday - Math 7/Pre-Algebra

Take care, and be careful!

Middle School Notes

Hello!

I hope you and your family are enjoying a wonderful weekend.  The weather certainly has been cooperative!

Please keep the following couple of items in mind as we head into the new week:

1. If your child needs to take any sort of medication during the school day, this should be done through the main office.  Please see Mrs. Littlepage or Mrs. Berney in order to check in your medication along with instructions for distribution.

2. Please remember that we are now scheduling conferences in grade-level teams.  These may be scheduled through the Guidance Center.  We are asking that you please avoid unannounced "drop-in" conferences with our teachers as they may be in the final stages of planning important activities just before students enter the room for class.  I have instructed our teachers to be diligent with respect to keeping grades posted on Edline, and informing you of problems with respect to grades and/or behavior.

Here are our tests for the week:

6th Grade:

Tuesday - Social Studies

Thursday - Social Studies Map Test

Friday - English

7th Grade:

Tuesday - Math 7/Pre-Algebra, Old Testament

Thursday - Geography

8th Grade:
