Middle School Matters

Happy Friday!

We have had a spectacular week here at Trinity!  I hope yours has been good as well.

Congratulations Gene and Karen Butler!

Congratulations to our band director, Gene Butler, and his wife, Karen, on the birth of their first child this week.  Julie Elaine Butler came six weeks early, but is doing well in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Baptist Medical Center-East here in Montgomery.  She weighed in at 4 lbs. 1 oz, and was 17 inches long.

Please continue to be in prayer for the Butlers as they are looking at a lengthy hospital stay for little Julie.

Here are some important announcements, as well as a parenting resource you may find useful:

7th Grade Government Field Trip

Our seventh grade students will be attending a field trip to the State Capitol, State House, Judicial Building, and Pike Road Town Hall, this coming Friday, October 29.  We will have lunch on the Capitol grounds and will have our picture made with Governor Bob Riley.  Many thanks to Whittington McLemore for putting this outstanding trip together.

Parent Resources Page

We have added a Parent Resources page to our Trinity Website.  I invite you to explore this new section which is filled with a tremendous amount of potentially useful information.  It may be found among the tabs located at the upper left corner of the homepage.  We would appreciate any feedback you may have about this page, or any suggestions for additions to it.

New Bible Studies

We have two new morning Bible studies beginning in the Middle School next week.  Here are the specific announcements regarding these new opportunities:

6th Grade Boys Bible Study

All 6th grade boys and their fathers are invited to a weekly Bible Study on Mondays beginning October 25 at 7:15 am in the lobby of Willett Hall.  Breakfast will be served followed by a short devotion.

8th Grade Girls Bible Study

I am excited to let you know about a new Bible study for 8th grade girls that will be led by Patricia Watts.  We will begin on Tuesday, October 26 at 7:15 am in Coach Barringer's room (606).  Each meeting should be completed by 7:50 am.

We invite you to prayerfully consider joining us as we discover what it really means for us to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength." Deuteronomy 6:5

Teens and Screen Time

Common Sense Media provides some interesting information this week regarding setting limits on the amount of "screen time" your child gets in any given week.  Their helpful article is worth a look, and may be found here.
